We decided to break our journey up on the way out to Australia with a short stopover in Singapore city. There is so much in the airport that you could be entertained there for a good few hours, without a hotel stay. Due to the time our flight arrived the butterfly gardens were already shut when we arrived and we’d missed the free cinema screenings.
We were glad to have a hotel to go and catch up on some sleep as our daughter did not sleep on the way out.
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel.
As our stopover was less than 24hrs our hold luggage remained checked right through to Australia.
We were free to explore the airport shops and get to the hotel carrying only our hand luggage, which was handy.
The Crowne Plaza Hotel is just next door to the airport so is easy to get to, once you have transited through security. The hotel has a lovely swimming pool and the room was very comfortable.
We were delighted that our hotel package included canapes and drinks in the hotel bar. So we enjoyed a Singapore Sling and some food before retiring to the comfort of our hotel room! If we had more time and money we would have spent a few days in Singapore to explore the city itself. But when we researched our flights it was a lot cheaper to transit straight through to Australia with only a very short stopover.
I have visited Singapore before and enjoyed exploring the magical city.
