6 months living in Canberra

| |

In some ways the past 6 months seem to have flown by, while in others not!

The best things about living in Canberra so far? The sunshine, the friendly people, the beautiful bushland, the wildlife, the fantastic events and activities for families in Canberra, the mountains and beaches nearby and the knowledge that our daughter is happy and really enjoying her new preschool. The fab local attractions like Play Up!, Questacon, Canberra Deep Space Station, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and more.

The worst? The worst part of being here of course is being far from our family and friends, so far away, with a time difference that often makes it hard to have a conversation when one or other of you aren’t half asleep.

We have had a fantastic time exploring Canberra and getting to know the beautiful “Bush capital” of Australia over the past 6 months.

We have found the local community so warm and welcoming and have a lovely rental property to call home.

John is now working full time in a job he is really enjoying, hooray! which is fantastic news, but I still haven’t had success getting a job (yet!).

But, 6 months in and it’s still hard to be away from family. A visit to see family and friends over the Easter Holidays was wonderful but doesn’t make the heartache of being apart any easier.
