Easter Holidays with family in the UK

| | , ,

Spending time with family is so important. So we were very glad to be able to make it back to the UK for the Easter holidays.

Returning to the UK in Spring meant we were amazed at how green and colourful the UK seemed compared to the brown dry land and bushland of Australia. Our arrival in London was not surprisingly to cold and grey drizzly skies. But fast forward a week and we were enjoying mild sunny days and then on to Easter Bank Holiday weekend when we were basking in a heatwave of 23 degrees in the West Midlands!

There is nothing like being away to help you see somewhere with fresh eyes. Spring is so pretty and colourful in England. The West Midlands was looking quite literally blooming marvellous. With bluebells and fresh spring flowers all around. The birds were in full song too, chirping away about how happy they were to see the sunshine. The weather was alarmingly warm and sunny for April with none of the rainy downpours I expected.

The best thing of all of course, was to see family and friends. To be able to have a chat in person over a “nice cup of tea” and have a cuddle with Mum and Dad, or Granny and Grandad. There is nothing like being in the same time and space to make it easier to have a proper conversation.

On our trip it was lovely to see nieces and nephews playing together. To spend time with family and friends and to enjoy the beautiful English countryside.

The downside was of course the jetlag and the goodbyes.

Same time, next year?
